It’s easy to see why local businesses and city organizations are quick to share The Philadelphia Inquirer’s printed thoughts about West Chester being “one of the world’s most perfect small towns.” It’s high praise, certainly, but it also gives a glimpse into why visiting West Chester (and, we imagine, living there) is so enjoyable.

Ace Chimney Sweeps is proud to count a number of West Chester, Pennsylvania, residents among our clients, and through the years, we’ve made regular visits up from our home in Elkton, Maryland, to provide everything from chimney inspections to fireplace refacing.

What Are the Advantages of Purchasing a Factory-Built Fireplace?

Factory-built fireplaces, also known as prefabricated or zero-clearance fireplaces, offer several advantages that make them a popular choice for modern day homeowners looking. They’re known for adding all the warmth and ambiance of a classic fireplace, just without the complexities of a traditional setup.

  • Factory-built fireplaces are cost effective. Factory-built fireplaces are typically more affordable than traditional masonry fireplaces because they are manufactured in a controlled setting and require less labor to install.
  • Factory-built fireplaces are easier and faster to install. Since they arrive as complete units, ready for installation, they don’t require a foundation or extensive brickwork…which means they can usually be installed in just a day or two.
  • Factory-built fireplaces come in a wide range of designs and styles. Finding an option to suit your space is no problem, as these come in a wide variety of sizes, styles, and fuel types (wood, gas, or electric).
  • Factory-built fireplaces offer flexible placement options. Thanks to their insulated and fire-rated construction, factory-built fireplaces can be installed closer to walls or combustible materials than traditional setups, allowing for more options in terms of placement.
  • Factory-built fireplaces tend to be more energy-efficient. Most modern factory-built units are highly efficient (especially gas or electric models with sealed combustion systems), with many being EPA-certified – great for reducing energy bills.
  • Factory-built fireplaces are low maintenance. Compared to masonry fireplaces, factory-built units generally require less upkeep, and the components are easier to access and replace.

West Chester Chimney Sweep: You Can Trust Us!

If you know anyone whose profession is at all connected to the building industry – from construction contractors to chimney professionals, like us – you’ve probably noticed an appreciation for older buildings. It makes sense… We put immense time and effort into understanding our craft, from its roots to the latest developments, and historic buildings are a living example of the foundation our professions were built upon.

That’s part of why West Chester is such a fascinating place to visit. Early settlers began building up West Chester as far back as the mid-1700s, and today, downtown West Chester carries forward a huge amount of that history. The entire downtown district, in fact, is part of the National Register of Historic Places.

That historic charm spreads beyond downtown, too, with buildings like Baldwin’s Book Barn, a five-story stone structure built in 1822 (with a wood-burning stove). Over 4,200 structures that can be traced back to colonial days are located in West Chester – that’s certainly a unique bragging right.

The Chester County Historical Society, headquartered in a 56,000-square-foot complex downtown, is a great place to learn about the history of the area through exhibits and events.

West Chester is also home to the American Helicopter Museum and Education Center, a museum that’s devoted to preserving and sharing the origins of rotary wing aircraft. At the museum, you can see restored historic aircraft and take helicopter rides, too.

The West Chester Railroad brought unused railways back to life to take visitors on scenic 90-minute trips through the Chester Creek Valley, from West Chester to Glen Mills Village. Along the way, you’ll pass historic stations that give a glimpse into the past, and reach the historic Victorian Glen Mills station, which, these days, is a museum.

Can we travel to you soon? Whether you’re in the great city of West Chester or somewhere nearby like Thorndale, Frazer, West Goshen, East Goshen, Westtown, Pocopson, Birmingham, Unionville, Avondale, Concordville, or Marshallton, we’d love to help you out. Call or book online today.

Couldn’t ask for an easier experience. Purchased my pellet stove from them and have had them do yearly cleanings since. Always an easy process to set up and they show on time each and every time. Have gotten the same tech, Holt, the last few times and he is very professional and does an excellent job. Highly recommend
